Bath Refugee Festival is a community-led programme of arts, culture and community events taking place across Bath during Refugee Week. Its first edition was held in 2025.

The festival is part of Refugee Week, the world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

This year’s theme is Courage, a chance to reflect on the bravery it takes to rebuild lives, stand up for dignity and solidarity with one another.

From 13–21 June 2026, artists, organisations and community groups will come together to celebrate creativity, share stories and create spaces for connection and learning.

ABOUT REFUGEE WEEK

Established in the UK in 1998, Refugee Week takes place every year around World Refugee Day (20th June) and has since grown into a global movement with over 2 million participants, across over 20 countries.

Through an exciting programme of thousands of events, activities and media campaigns, Refugee Week brings together people from different backgrounds to connect beyond labels, and foster a deeper understanding of why people are displaced, and the challenges they face when seeking safety.

Refugee Week 2026 will be 15-21st June with the theme of Courage.

By providing a platform for people who have sought sanctuary to share their experiences, perspectives and creative work on their own terms, our vision is for refugees and asylum seekers to be able to live safely within inclusive and resilient communities, where they can continue to make meaningful contributions.

OUR TEAM

ANDREA DOS ANJOS

Andrea is a community organiser, facilitator and communications strategist. Her work focuses on creating spaces where people can share their experiences, participate meaningfully and build stronger communities. She hosts the podcast Un lugar in between, where she explores identity, migration and belonging through conversations and storytelling.

HIBA ELHINDI

Hiba Elhindi is a Sudanese-British arts producer and community organiser, and the founding director of the Bath Refugee Festival. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of Sudafest, the organisation behind the Bath Refugee Festival, leading its vision, development, and delivery.

EDUARDO LEMOS MARTIN

Eduardo is a Brazilian journalist, curator, and live music producer based in Bath, UK. He directs Yoyomá Live, a music agency focused on touring Brazilian artists in the UK, such as Barbatuques, Leo Middea, Da Lata and Soma Soma, among others. He also manages Onda de Amor, a multidisciplinary initiative focused on Latin American music’s presence in Bath and nearby regions. ]
